Manzarek - Krieger was an American rock band formed by two former members of the Doors, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger, in 2002. They were also known as "The Doors of the 21st Century, D21C," and "Riders on the Storm" after the Doors song of the same name. They settled on using "Manzarek - Krieger" or "Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors" for legal reasons, after acrimonious debates and...

Robby Krieger: Oh, right. He picked Charles Manson up hitchhiking one day. Yeah. Him and the Beach Boys drummer Dennis. The two of them were driving down Sunset Boulevard. They picked up Charlie with his guitar and he was going up to see Terry Melcher to play his demo for Terry Melcher, who he later was trying to kill because he didn’t like it." Did it really happen? George Stephen Morrison (January 7, 1919 - November 17, 2008) was a United States Navy rear admiral (upper half) and naval aviator. Morrison was commander of United States naval forces during the Gulf of Tonkin Incident of August 1964, which sparked an escalation of American involvement in the Vietnam War. He was the father of Jim Morrison, the lead singer of the rock band The Doors, who died o...

Wheels Of Forte lol. Close.
Thank you for this It brings a deeper and broader understanding to the "American Prayer" Album. The best Morrison Album by far. The epilogue was particularly insightful as to Jim's thinking as he entered, "The Hot Forest"
As a Doors fan and a Torontonian thanks for sharing this. Subbed and clicked the bell.
This is what it sounds like when you are high on H.
Awesome.
That would have freaked me out as a child. Remember that Jim was raised in Florida and West Virginia. You don't know what Mexicans look like. When you first see the Hispanics, you assume they are Native American. We stopped calling them Indians in the 90's i think. It is an insult. My great grandmother was a quarter native American. Could not call her an " Indian" though. She would have whooped your ass. She's a "native". My dad also hates Thanksgiving. Every damn Thanksgiving he tells the story of how the Native Americans were screwed over by the colonizers, took the land that was everbody's and claimed ownership. so "I'm here to eat but this is not our holiday." Thanks pops. 😂
They are Native Americans. Back then, they called them "Indians"
Love it !
Why the f*** interview someone if you haven’t the slightest clue about the simplest details of their career? It does nothing for any party involved.
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Ray Manzarek at the House of Blues in West Hollywood in 2003 in which I was the lucky recipient of tickets to see The Doors for an interview with Jim Ladd and KLOS. Ray was sitting at the bar drinking a Heineken and I waltzed over and sat down next to him and had a very memorable conversation with him. Very nice man. I was nervous. Maybe a little star struck. They played four songs. Ian Astbury sang. Stewart Copeland on drums. Really something special.
The Doors rule. My all time favorite band. No slamming them in my presence unless you want a fight.
Phenomenal video! 💥 Thanks
Funny, he told Ray early on that he couldn't sing! Jim had a phenomenal voice! Exceptional range and quality!
What a AMAZING person!
What the hell is this?
Saw this tour November 2011 at House of Blues Houston. Crowd was in a frenzy. Band was feeding off crowd and vice versa. One of the best concerts ive ever seen, and ive seen a lot. RIP Ray.
Probably the missing piece of the puzzle is to find the police report of the accident, if it still exists. There could be mention of witnesses there.
Pathetic...!!!
Jim lookin' chilled out as usual !
Why dick brought up light my fire! is it due to the altercation between janis & Morrison
Wow what a weak interviewer. The silly snickering and nervous laughter was annoying and unprofessional.
67 Shelby GT 500 had the 428 Police Interceptor engine. The 428 Cobra Jet Engine didn't come out until 68 mid year.
Astounding voice. So rich and multilayered. Best of the best.
idk jimmy the ghosts of indian people wouldn´t know about dying death and the afterworld wot not and were runnimg around screaming as ghosts idk that doesn´t make much sense to me no if there would be a people who would know about it then indians would certainly be one of them yeh no hey jim was a bullshitter too u know he was hehehh and these guys around him here they typical yes-nodders and enablers for whatevrr he said they didn´t respect jim enough or themselves to say hey fokk u jimbo with yr stupid shit and this probbly one of the methods how jim tested people out ofcourse he did
Mary died in Los Angeles County on June 25, 2024. She was 79 and had been in poor health for many years. RIP
I believe she died earlier in 2023, weeks before her possessions were auctioned off on Ebay.. The first auction started In october 2023, there are still items unsold; www.ebay.com/itm/115938487448?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=MHFAkDpWQxm&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=EEVMCn5NTcO&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
She didn’t bring her belongings to auction, The payments for the storage she rented stopped so the storage unit was auctioned off.
Thanks for uploading...after a long time i always come back to his writings.
Who is this awful woman? Ruining the whole interview.
0:53 is it just me or she looks like Shocking Blue's singer?
Jim and Janis had a few encounters and not just the infamous one where Jim grabbed Janis by the hair and she hit him over the head with a bottle... In The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger's book "Set the Night on Fire ", Robby describes how one of The first times The Doors went to San Francisco Jim ended up at Janis' house, just the two of them... And Jim had to sneak out because Janis' boyfriend showed up unexpectedly. At the time, Janis' boyfriend was "Freewhelin Frank", the secretary of the Hells Angels in San Francisco. Jim made peace with Janis shortly before her death... Jim's friend Tom Baker confessed this in an interview in which he said that Janis was an occasional drinking friend, so the contact between Morrison and Joplin was more lasting and intense than people know. Apparently, when Janis died, Jim was very sorry... He really liked her, that's why when, after first Hendrix's death and then Joplin's death, he used to tell his friends "you're here drinking with the number 3", which a few months later turned out to be true.
I loved the doors and still do
I wish my first concert was the The Doors! ~We all have a "brother" in Jim. I've always been impressed by Anne, it was easy to see that she loved Jim deeply -and she "got" him, which is some comfort as a fan, for reasons that true *fans* will understand. What an amazing work of heart this book is, I'm looking forward very much to owning a copy. Jim's been a hero, and inspiration to me for many years, and I have no doubt that he would have gone on to produce video and film. JDM was a genius, and I think he proved that by expanding the borders of rock and roll to encompass epic oral poetry. It's very moving and heartening to see the level of love and respect that his geat work is held in, and to see his art being treated with the love and care it so rightly deserves. 🏆

The narrator sounds like Jim Morrison...
This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. Thank you!
All them big vocabulary words. He wasn't kidding. He really did read every book he could get his hands on.
I guess it's only fitting that the blue lady left this existence only 3 months after Jim did.
It is very kitsch like something out of the movie Barbarella.
Greatest band of all time Beatles said let it be the stones said let it bleed the doors said let it roll❤
Just look at his sister and u will see Jim at that age-Still BEAUTIFUL 👑🐐✌❤🌎

I was there in 70 and 69 for Dylan. Great times. We were 20ft from the stage.
